What’s Growing in This Season of Root2Rise Creations
In this season of Root2Rise Creations, growth is happening in new ways. What began as healing, gardening, and creating for family needs is expanding into a wider offering of products, custom creations, and new opportunities to share what has been quietly growing for years.
What began as healing, gardening, creating, and crafting for family needs has continued to grow into something I now have the joy of sharing more publicly. This season is one of business growth, expanded offerings, and releasing products into the world that have been made and loved for years, but until now, were not available to the public.
Today, Root2Rise Creations can be found at local small businesses, shipped anywhere in the United States, delivered throughout surrounding counties, and picked up at select locations. One of the things I love most about this season is that I still get to keep the heart of Root2Rise at the center of it all: listening well, creating intentionally, and specializing in custom orders that begin with real people and real needs.
Some of the most recent custom creations have reflected that heart beautifully.
One custom recipe was crafted for a client seeking something to help ease eczema and psoriasis concerns. That product became Mugwort Meadow, a blend created with ingredients known for their soothing, restorative, and protective qualities for irritated skin. Mugwort and tallow are at the heart of that recipe, supported by intentionally chosen ingredients that help calm and nourish the skin.
Another recent custom order began with a woman looking for a special gift for her husband. As older scents make their way back into style—much like bell bottoms and high-waisted jeans finding their way back around again—she wanted a men’s line with an old-school, familiar aroma reminiscent of Old Spice.
That request immediately made me think of Lion’s Heart, a men’s line originally crafted for a local charity auction that later became one of Root2Rise’s signature offerings. Lion’s Heart is made with nourishing ingredients and includes shaving cream, cologne, body wash, lotion bar, and a shaving set with a wooden bowl and brush. It was inspired by Joshua 1:9: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you.” This new custom order is currently being crafted, and I am excited to see how it all comes together. Who knows? Maybe it will become a future signature line of its own.
This season of growth is not only happening in bath, body, and personal care.
Because of Indiana’s Cottage Food laws, some of the foods we have made on the homestead can now be offered to the public without the use of a commercial kitchen and sold right here from the homestead. Some food products can also be placed in local small businesses, which opens another beautiful door for Root2Rise to keep growing in practical and creative ways.
And for the items that do require a commercial kitchen, I now have access to two commercial kitchens whose owners want to support the continued growth of Root2Rise Creations. That support means some long-loved creations may finally become publicly available.
Yes—that gifted Vanilla Extract will be available.
The raspberry sauce and Thai chili sauce that often have people asking, “Are those going to be included in our Christmas goodie bag?” may now become products people can purchase throughout the year.
And yes, if the Hidden Rose apple trees produce well this year, pink applesauce will be making its appearance this fall.
This is only the beginning.
Root2Rise Creations has always been about more than making products. It has been about noticing needs, creating with intention, honoring the beauty of what God provides, and sharing those gifts in ways that nourish daily life. In this current season, that mission is expanding—and I could not be more grateful.
There is something deeply meaningful about watching what was once created quietly for family and friends begin to grow outward into the community and beyond. It feels a bit like so much of the Root2Rise story has always felt: planting the seed, tending it with care, and trusting that in the right season, growth will come.
And now I would love to hear from you:
What kind of food products would you be most excited to see Root2Rise Creations offer?
